The Prisma-method

1. Damit Sie sich gleich zu Beginn an den Klang der Sprache gewöhnen, findet der Unterricht nur in Deutsch statt.
2. Damit Sie sich im Alltag zurecht finden, wird bei uns mit modernen Lehrwerken und aktuellen Themen gearbeitet.
3. Partner- und Gruppenarbeit bringen Sie den anderen Schülern näher, stärken Ihr Zugehörigkeitsgefühl und lassen Sie (sich) in Ihrer Klasse wohlfühlen.
4. Unsere hochqualifizierte, multilinguale und multikulturelle Lehrkräfte stehen Ihnen jederzeit zur Seite und betreuen Sie individuell bei allen Fragen.

Course levels

Prisma e.V. offers mostly intensive courses with 12 to 16 lessons per week, but also general courses with 6 to 8 lessons per week. All courses are arranged systematically and are modelled on the Common European Reference Frame (GER). If you attend our intensive courses, you can complete a whole course level in just 12 weeks.
E. g. you could - starting as a complete beginner - pass the examination "Zertifikat Deutsch" after 7 months of tuition or acquire in one year all necessary skills for studying at a German university.
Every level is split in two parts, e.g. Grundstufe (basic level) 1a and 1b. For each a- or b-course you need 6 weeks.

The levels A1 to C2 correspond with the Common European Reference Frame. At the end of the page you can see, which skills you have reached at the end of every level.

Grundstufe (Basic Level) A1-B1

We offer three basic levels, where currently we teach with the three-volume course book "Themen aktuell" (Max Hueber Verlag). To prepare for "Zertifikat Deutsch" we offer preparatory courses on up to 3 Saturdays before the examination date

Mittelstufe (Intermediate) B2-C1

We offer two intermediate levels and currently we teach with the book "em" (Max Hueber Verlag). If you successfully complete these two levels, you can take the "Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung" examination at the Goethe Institute.

Oberstufe (Advanced) C1-C2

On advanced level we offer general courses with 8 lessons per week, normally split in two parts. In advanced courses we work with topical excerpts from newspapers and magazines etc., as well as exercise sheets appropriate for this level. After having completed two advanced courses you are able to tackle the university entrance examination ("DSH") to gain admission to a German University.

Our culture- and leisure program

We all know how important for your integration and well-being it is to get to know the culture of your new home-land. Beyond our German courses we would therefore like to introduce you German culture (painting, literature, architecture, tradition, music, theatre).

Through our culture- and leisure program you will meet the locals, get a first-hand experience of their culture and at the same time improve your German in a pleasant way.

We offer in addition to our German courses: - visits to museums and exhibitions - visits to theatres, concerts and films - two parties a year - a summer excursion to the surrounding country-side or other cities.

The participants decide together with their teacher, which event would suit them and the teacher will take care of organising.

Qualification of our teachers

Our teachers are university-absolvents with long-time teaching experience and native language competence. They regularily attend trainings, which help them to optimize and broaden their methods and subjects. Many of them speak more than one foreign language, which gives them advantages in dealing with people from different countries. The subjects and methods of tuition are regularily monitored by evaluation.
